Amber Fennell

Amber co-founded Consilium Strategic Communications in 2013 ahead of the company being bought by ICR in 2023. Amber has dedicated her career to building an agency that brings a unique communications offering to the market, with the mission to enhance the profile and perception of healthcare companies internationally. Passionate about innovative science and translating it into clear and compelling narratives and investment cases, Amber has worked with some of the industry’s leading healthcare companies, building impactful communications strategies across all platforms. 

Amber’s work includes successful profiling campaigns, company launches and transactions, including significant sector IPOs, M&A, licensing deals and public and private fundraisings, as well as reputation and crisis projects across the US and Europe.

Prior to founding Consilium, Amber began her career in public affairs and lobbying with experience working with the biotech sector. She then moved into the City of London in 2007 and joined the Pharma and Biotech team and Citigate Dewe Rogerson (now MEDiSTRAVA) and the healthcare team at M:Communications in 2010.

Amber gained a First in International History and Politics from Leeds University and a Masters in War Studies from Kings College London.

When not at work, where would we likely find you?

Sailing with my husband and two kids. I had the joy in 2015 to be able to buy back a small sailing yacht my grandfather had built in the 1930s. She is a Bombay Tom Tit called Tania, short for Brittania and my mother was named after her. She’s my fourth baby, after Consilium!

Who is the person in your life you look up to the most?

My godfather – he is an incredibly successful businessman from humble beginnings, which is inspiring in itself, but also one of the most open and unprejudiced people I know. He welcomes anyone, from any walk of life and respects their views and beliefs, to the extent that he insists that his front door is open all day to welcome anyone who may want to drop by.
